Job Summary
Medspa Medical Director (California) - Contract role for a licensed MD with CA license to oversee aesthetic injections and partnerships with RN/NP/PA providers. Responsibilities include approving medical hires and treatment menus, reviewing and signing SOPs and consent forms, ensuring compliance with state law, being available for emergencies, and providing decision-making support and supervision. Opportunity to interview and select injectors to partner with, set compensation with oversight of multiple injectors, and potential PC ownership with Moxie handling admin, billing, and documentation. Requires active CA medical license; MD with Plastic Surgery or Dermatology background preferred; must have NP oversight slots and PA oversight slot; formal injectables training; mentoring RNs/PAs/NPs; previous aesthetic medicine experience. Background check conducted as part of standard vetting; remote work location available with California residency/office requirement.
Required Qualifications
- Active California Medical License
- MD with background in Plastic Surgery or Dermatology (preferred)
- Minimum two (2) NP oversight slots and one (1) PA oversight slot (required)
- Prior experience in aesthetic medicine as collaborating physician or Medical Director
- Formal training in injectables and other aesthetic procedures (minimum botox and fillers)
- Willingness to oversee and supervise aesthetic treatments
- Open to serving as a California Professional Corporation (PC) Owner
- Interest in mentoring and supporting RNs, PAs, and NPs
