Medior/Senior Automation Test Engineer

Job Summary
Design and maintain Playwright-based UI and API automation using TypeScript/JavaScript, including regression, smoke, and end-to-end tests. Analyze business and technical requirements to create, review, and maintain detailed test cases while identifying coverage gaps. Execute automated and manual tests, investigate defects, validate fixes, and report results. Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines for release validation and support deployments. Prepare test datasets and collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps engineers to support fast software delivery. Maintain documentation, follow coding standards, and mentor junior colleagues. Fluent Hungarian and English required for the international team in Budapest.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in software testing
- At least 2 years of experience in test automation
- Hands-on experience with Playwright
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and test design techniques
- Experience creating and maintaining automated test frameworks
- Knowledge of API testing and REST services
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Xray, Zephyr, TestRail)
- Fluent Hungarian knowledge and English since you will work in an international team with daily English communication
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Proactive attitude toward improving processes and automation coverage
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with SQL and database validation
- Experience with performance or security testing
- Knowledge of Docker or containerized test environments
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent
