Job Summary
Dispense unit dose medications, make required record entries, and notify nurses of self-administered medications per state regulations. Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living including toileting, dressing, bathing, and eating, while monitoring changes in health status and reporting them immediately. Supervise or assist residents with activity programs, escort them to meals, and help keep units neat and orderly. Answer emergency calls promptly and document all scheduled and unscheduled services, including incidents and refusals, in the community computer tracking system. Full-time positions work evenings; part-time roles (24-29 hours) cover overnights. Pay ranges from $22.00 to $25.00/hour based on experience, with a $2,000 sign-on bonus for full-time hires. Candidates must hold current Certified Medication Aide or Assisted Living certification, possess computer literacy, and demonstrate the physical stamina to lift 15 lbs and assist residents weighing up to 150 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Certified Medication Aide / Assisted Living
- Must have completed the course, as required by State Regulation to administer medication
- CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed
- Current Med Aide or LMNA certification/license or completed required training as dictated by State Regulation
- Ability to use computer for documenting services provided
- Shall be fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written
- Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input
- Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment
- Visual and auditory acuity
- Must be able to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs. and be able to carry objects
- Must be able to push and pull carts, and continuously walk, sit and stand
- Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate
- Must use good body mechanics
- Stamina to make visits to residents throughout the community
- Occasional pushing or pulling, assisting of residents weighing (~150 lbs.)
- Have the ability to occasionally push an occupied wheelchair for a distance of up to 200 feet
- Must project a positive attitude towards the service provided
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training preferred
- Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimers disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred
