Medication Technician PT

Job Summary

Supervise self-administration of medication for residents while assisting with ADLs, meal service, and light housekeeping to encourage independence. Interact constantly with residents at all care levels, observe and report daily changes in health and emotional well-being, and ensure residents sign out when leaving the community. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment by performing daily general housekeeping duties, observing safety hazards, and following established cleaning schedules. Respond promptly to resident requests, including phone calls from family, and comply with HIPAA regulations and emergency policies. Report or remain at the community during emergencies or inclement weather as essential personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • one to two years related experience and/or training
  • Medicine Technician (Med-Tech) certification
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
