Job Summary
Medication Technician is responsible for supervising and assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, and practices of the company. Responsibilities include preparing and distributing medication to residents, coordinating medication services with residents, pharmacies, and physicians, ordering and tracking medication changes, maintaining accurate and confidential medication and care records, ensuring a safe and secure environment, and promoting teamwork with coworkers and other departments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) preferred
- Completion of training/certification may be required per state regulation
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to operate MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs
- Written and verbal communication skills with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Must pass Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests (including TB)
- Vaccination and PPE may be required per regulatory guidelines
