Job Summary
Administer or assist with medication administration and supervision according to physician orders, documenting all actions on the MAR. Provide physical and psychosocial care including activities of daily living, mobility assistance, and emergency response. Oversee wellness staffing schedules, planning monthly rotations and participating in on-call coverage for open shifts. Maintain security of medication carts and narcotic keys, conducting required counts and adhering to infection control protocols. Report changes in resident status, safety violations, or abuse to supervisors immediately.
Required Qualifications
- Must maintain certification in the state where you work if required.
- Satisfactory completion of state-required education/certificates/testing in relation to medication aides as well as the company medication aide skills competency checklist.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
- Be in good physical health and free of communicable diseases.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
- Completion of drug testing and criminal background check upon hire and upon request of supervisor.
- Must be available by phone 24/7 while on-call for staffing needs and able to fill open shift if needed.
- Experience in Assisted Living preferred, but not required.
