Job Summary
The Medication Technician administers and assists with prescribed medications for residents under RN/LPN supervision, verifies resident identity, records drug details, observes for ingestion or reactions, and documents care as part of a senior living community team. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, reporting changes, adhering to medication policies, assisting with medication administration via various routes, restocking medications, maintaining electronic medical records, and providing compassionate personal care and activities to residents. Under supervision, may perform bed baths, personal care, mobility assistance, feeding, dressing, and other related duties to support resident well-being and safe medication administration.
Required Qualifications
- Authorized by the applicable state governing authority to assist or administer medications
- Meet requirements of the state assisted living medication assistant guidelines
- Experience with older adults preferred
- Ability to work with older adults
- Demonstrates organizational skills
- Mature, pleasant, friendly personality
