Job Summary
Supervise self-administration of medication and assist residents with ADLs, meal service, and light housekeeping to encourage independence. Observe and report daily changes in residents' health and emotional well-being while serving them at dining times and initiating leisure activities. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing daily housekeeping, ensuring residents sign out when leaving, and immediately reporting safety hazards. Respond promptly to resident and family requests, communicate effectively in resident-capable languages, and comply with HIPAA and emergency protocols. Report or remain at the community during emergencies or inclement weather as essential personnel.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to two years related experience and/or training
- Medicine Technician (Med-Tech) certification
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Knowledge of word processing software
- Knowledge of electronic medical records
