Required Qualifications

• •Medicine Technician (Med-Tech) certification
• •High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• •Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• •Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• •Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
• •Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
• •Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
• •Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• •Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• •Knowledge of word processing software
• •Knowledge of electronic medical records
• •One to two years related experience and/or training
• •Equivalent combination of education and experience

• •Ability to ensure residents and/or responsible parties sign residents out when they leave the community
• •Ability to maintain a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families, visitors, and associates
• •Ability to practice good body mechanics and safe working habits at all times
• •Ability to observe and report safety hazards immediately to supervisor
• •Ability to work as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments
• •Ability to demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures at all times
• •Ability to demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates and management at all times

• •Ability to supervise self-administration of medication for residents
• •Ability to assist with ADL's, meal service, light housekeeping, and laundry while encouraging resident independence
• •Ability to speak to/interact with residents at all levels of care constantly, while showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect
• •Ability to observe and report to supervisor daily and all changes in the resident's health and emotional well-being
• •Ability to serve and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily
• •Ability to initiate and participate in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activity calendar
• •Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents at all times
• •Ability to perform daily general housekeeping duties following established cleaning schedules
• •Ability to ensure and support a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates
• •Ability to respond promptly and courteously to resident's requests for assistance including phone calls and requests from family members and visitors
• •Ability to refrain from discussing resident care issues with families and visitors and refer all inquiries to immediate supervisor
• •Ability to assist with training of new employees
• •Ability to assist in mentoring new employees
• •Ability to take the initiative in work, seek out additional information, and offer solutions/suggestions, all without asking
• •Ability to take on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties willingly
• •Ability to provide a variety of housekeeping and/or laundry duties in maintaining the community in an orderly, clean, and sanitary condition
• •Ability to perform all other reasonable duties as assigned
• •Ability to be considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather
• •Ability to report or remain at community until released by supervisor during emergencies and/or inclement weather
