Medication Technician/Med Tech

Job Summary
Supervise self-administration of medication for residents while assisting with ADLs, meal service, and light housekeeping to encourage independence. Interact constantly with residents at all care levels, observe and report daily changes in health and emotional well-being, and ensure residents sign out when leaving the community. Serve residents during breakfast, lunch, and dinner, initiate leisure activities, and maintain a clean, safe environment by following established cleaning schedules and reporting hazards immediately. Comply with HIPAA regulations, attend mandatory trainings, and respond promptly to resident requests and family inquiries.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to two years related experience and/or training
- Medicine Technician (Med-Tech) certification
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

- Ability to know, understand, and follow established policies and procedures in emergency situations
- Ability to be considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather
- Ability to report or remain at community until released by supervisor
