Job Summary
Administer or assist with medication administration and supervise residents' activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility. Document all services on medication administration records and conduct shift change reports with incoming and outgoing personnel. Maintain security of medication carts and narcotic keys by performing required counts at shift start and end. Provide physical and psychosocial care while observing and reporting changes in residents' physical or cognitive status. Plan wellness staffing schedules, participate in on-call rotations, and respond to emergencies promptly. Ensure room cleanliness, follow infection control procedures, and coordinate transportation needs.
Required Qualifications
- Must maintain certification in the state where you work if required.
- Satisfactory completion of state-required education/certificates/testing in relation to medication aides as well as the company medication aide skills competency checklist.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
- Be in good physical health and free of communicable diseases.
- Lifting, bending, and pushing medication cart about residence is required.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
- Completion of drug testing and criminal background check upon hire and upon request of supervisor.
- Must be available by phone 24/7 while on-call for staffing needs and able to fill open shift if needed.
- Experience in Assisted Living preferred.
