Job Summary
Assist residents with self-administration of oral, topical, inhaled, and other approved medications in accordance with California Title 22 regulations and physician orders. Follow Medication Administration Records (MARs) precisely, observe for changes in physical or cognitive condition, and document refusals, errors, or adverse reactions immediately. Maintain secure storage and accurate labeling of all medications while responding calmly to emergencies per established protocols. Provide respectful assistance with activities of daily living and build positive relationships with residents and families. Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with Title 22, HIPAA, and infection control policies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of Title 22-required medication training prior to assisting with medications
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to pass background check, health screening, and TB clearance as required by regulation
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and transfer up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents throughout a shift in residential and common-area settings
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medication Technician, CNA, or caregiver in assisted living or residential care
- Experience in a high-end or hospitality-focused senior living environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to resident safety and service quality
