Medication Technician - Full Time

Job Summary
The Medication Technician provides quality care and assists residents with activities of daily living, and administers prescribed medications within the established scope of practice. Responsibilities include assisting with medication administration, maintaining documentation in EMAR/MAR and Daily Log, reporting resident status to the health-care team (HCD, RN/LPN), performing housekeeping and meal/activity support, ensuring confidentiality, and participating in move-in transitions and activity planning. Requires completion of Medication Aide Course, current CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing, ability to pass medication observations and audits, CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain, and a flexible schedule including weekends/holidays. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have completed the Medication Aide Course
- Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing
- Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually
- Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits
- Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually
- Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs
- Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner
