Job Summary
Medication Technician administers and supervises medication administration for residents in accordance with nursing standards and company policies; coordinates with residents, pharmacies, and physicians; orders and tracks medication changes and deliveries; maintains accurate and confidential resident medication and care records; ensures a safe environment and promotes teamwork with colleagues and other departments; requires interaction with residents and families and may require one year of experience in RCFE settings; 18+ years old; HS diploma or equivalent; MS Office proficiency; may require state training/certification.
Required Qualifications
- One year of experience preferred in assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE)
- Completion of state-required training/certification may be required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent; LVN a plus
- Ability to operate MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong desire to work with the elderly
- Written and verbal communication with staff, physicians, residents and families
- Criminal background check and health screening including TB tests
