Job Summary
Medication Technician is responsible for supervising and assisting in the administration of medications to residents in accordance with nursing standards, providing direct personal care, encouraging resident participation in activities, and collaborating with housekeeping and maintenance staff. Responsibilities include preparing/distributing medications, coordinating medication services with residents, pharmacies, and physicians, tracking medication changes/refills/deliveries, maintaining confidential medication/care records, ensuring a safe environment, and promoting teamwork with other departments. Requires 1 year RCFE medication assistance experience (state-regulated training/certification may be required), 18+ years old, HS diploma or equivalent (LVN a plus), and strong communication and customer service skills.
Required Qualifications
- Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE)
- Completion of training/certification may be required based on state regulation
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- HS diploma or equivalent; LVN is a plus
- Ability to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs
- Written and verbal communication with staff, supervisors, physicians, residents, and families
- Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests including TB
- Vaccination/ PPE as required by regulatory guidelines
