Job Summary
Coordinate medication administration schedules for Assisted Living residents according to prescribed dosages and timing. Ensure accurate documentation of medication distribution, including maintaining updated records of medication lists and administration logs. Monitor medication storage and inventory levels, coordinating refills and supplies as needed. Monitor residents' health and behavior changes, communicating side effects to leadership while upholding residents' dignity and privacy. Collaborate with the care team to provide comprehensive support. Requires high school diploma, caregiving experience, and proficiency in electronic health records. Full-time or part-time availability.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in caregiving or healthcare settings, preferably as a medication aide or medication technician.
- Exceptional communication skills in English, enabling effective interaction with residents and staff through both verbal and written means.
- Utilize electronic devices and software provided, especially electronic health records.
- Understanding of basic healthcare principles or practices.
- Familiarity with medication management protocols, including knowledge of common medications, dosages, and administration techniques.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Awareness of common health conditions affecting older adults.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Capability to remain calm and compassionate in challenging situations.
- Problem-solving abilities to promptly address concerns or complaints, with the ability to quickly pivot from one task to the next.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships.
