Job Summary
The Med Tech role provides quality care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents and assists with the administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice. Responsibilities include maintaining knowledge of policies, reporting resident status and incidents, performing housekeeping tasks, responding to calls and emergencies, assisting in activity planning, documenting in daily logs and EMAR/MAR, coordinating with HCD/RN/LPN, assisting move-in transitions, and completing required medication training and audits. Must hold a High School Diploma or GED, complete the Medication Aide Course, possess CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing, and meet ongoing medication-related training and assessment requirements. Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and professional conduct are essential. Frequent lifting and standing are required, with a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completed Medication Aide Course
- CNA license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing
- Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing
- Pass 2 medication observations annually
- Pass all medication cart audits
- Attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs
- Ability to lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
