Job Summary
Train staff on medication management policies and monitor adherence to the system, ensuring the med room remains clean, organized, and secure. Transcribe medication changes to electronic health records and communicate updates to the team while supporting residents to connect with providers for refills. Observe and document resident self-administration, conduct monthly audits of the EMO Health Self-Audit tool, and investigate medication count discrepancies. Facilitate weekly wellness groups focused on healthy medication taking skills and report misuse concerns or errors immediately. Collaborate on medication support plans for adherence issues and carry out Recovery Specialist duties including wellness checks when not managing medications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years experience in health and human service-related field
- Flexibility to work weekends on a scheduled basis, and as-needed, with reasonable notice when available
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to adhere to, federal and state policies (42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA), including ensuring appropriate releases are obtained prior to exchanging or disclosing necessary resident information
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Intermediate proficiency in word processing and other computer functions using Windows, Word, and Google Email and Apps
- Ability to enter and navigate various physical environments, including multi-story buildings without the use of an elevator
- Ability to use a computer, tablet, and mobile phone for data entry, communication, and record-keeping
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g., sitting at a desk or in meetings) for extended periods while completing documentation and administrative tasks
- Frequent movement throughout the program to conduct wellness/safety checks, check the physical environment, and move supplies
- Frequent and clear communication with individuals, colleagues, and partners, requiring the ability to exchange accurate information in person, by phone, and in writing
- Occasional lifting or carrying of program materials, supplies, or small equipment (up to 20 pounds)
- Ability to provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and overdose rescue (naloxone administration) if needed
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- preferably experience in substance use disorder/behavioral health treatment settings
- Experience with handling and managing medications preferred
- Demonstrated experience and success in roles requiring keen attention to details, extensive coordination with collaterals, and exceptional follow through
- Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHRs) preferred
