Job Summary

Administer medication to clients as needed and ensure prescriptions are documented and maintained in an orderly fashion. Work cooperatively with case managers to fill prescriptions, verify physician orders are current, and communicate updates to staff. Coordinate emergency treatment and discharge planning with hospital staff when referring clients to emergency care. Report verified or suspected abuse or neglect in accordance with policy and maintain HIPAA protocols regarding client confidentiality. Monitor client medical equipment for safety and prepare clients for self-medication status and health assessment referrals. This role supports at-risk populations, including those with mental health challenges and disabilities, through direct clinical work within a large non-profit homeless services provider.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • AMAP Certification
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • At least one year of experience in direct clinical work with psychiatrically disabled populations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to assist adult males of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, and sexual preferences
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office application
