Job Summary
Provides medication assistance for residents in accordance with state regulations and company policy, including pouring, preparing, assisting with administration, and documentation; maintains the medication cart and storage room; ensures accurate medication counts and security; may assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility; engages residents in meaningful conversation and activities; responds promptly to resident needs; upholds Residents’ Rights and company policies; reports changes to a licensed nurse; completes medication administration records and related documentation; assists in dining room during meals; encourages participation in activities/outings; may assist with caregiver housekeeping.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-year of previous experience as a Caregiver or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting
- Must be able to read, write and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and other staff members
- Must complete Medication Aide training (and certification in states where required)
