Job Summary
Certified Med Tech/Med-Aide provides direct resident care focused on medication management and daily living needs in an assisted living setting. Responsibilities include assisting with medications as prescribed, receiving/organizing meds, monitoring vital signs and skin health, reviewing care plans, aiding in admissions/transfers/discharges, maintaining medication storage area, and documenting care and changes per regulations. Requires completion of Qualified Medication Aide program with current state license, CPR/First Aid certification, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and English communication. Part-time night shifts and weekends; background check and drug screening permitted. Strong emphasis on confidentiality, resident rights, safety, and teamwork with Health Services Director and nursing staff.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Completion of the Qualified Medication Aide program with a current license based on state requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
- Willingness to adhere to assisted living principles
- Ability to work longer than eight (8) hour shift, to work holidays or overtime, to work seven (7) day schedule
- Routinely requires pushing, pulling, bending, walking, reaching, and stooping
- English speaking and writing ability; clear communication
