Medication Aide (PT 2:30PM - 10:30PM)

Job Summary

Administer medications to residents under licensed nurse direction while performing assigned treatments. Assist with activities of daily living including hygiene, toileting, feeding, and safe movement. Document care observations, chart relevant findings, and report changes in resident condition per facility policies. Provide redirection, monitor behavior, and perform incidental household services as part of the personal care plan. Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and ensure all documentation is timely and accurate. Requires CNA and Registered Medication Aide certification, standing/walking majority of the day, and lifting up to 75 lbs.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • United States Citizenship or evidence of a valid Alien Work Permit
  • Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in this state
  • Certified as Registered Medication Aide in this state
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to make appropriate professional judgments
  • Ability to operate a motorized vehicle and have reliable transportation for work in the community
  • Occasional use of hands, wrists and fingers and lifting or moving up to 75 lbs may be required
  • Movements such as stooping, crouching, bending, kneeling, climbing and reaching are occasionally required
  • This position requires spending a majority of the workday standing and walking, with occasional sitting
  • Noise and/or level of distractions in the work environment is moderate
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision
  • Ability to provide covered PCA services according to the person's PCA Care Plan
  • Adhere to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) privacy policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information pertaining to clients, families and employees
  • Demonstrate the ability to make appropriate professional judgments
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide covered care services according to the client's care plan, respond appropriately to client's needs and reports changes in the client's condition to the licensed supervising Resident Care Director
  • Ability to operate a motorized vehicle and have reliable transportation for work in the community
  • Ability to provide covered PCA services according to the person's PCA Care Plan

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • At least six months experience in an assisted living community preferred
