Job Summary
Administer medications to residents under licensed nurse direction while performing assigned treatments, excluding IV, IM, and tube feedings. Document, chart, and report relevant observations per facility guidelines, regulations, and policies. Assist residents with activities of daily living including hygiene, toileting, feeding, safe mobility, and environment care such as laundry and housekeeping. Maintain confidentiality of all resident information, adhere to HIPAA policies, and ensure care documentation is complete and compliant. Monitor resident behavior, provide redirection and intervention as part of personal care plans, and report changes in client condition to the supervising Resident Care Director.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- United States Citizenship or evidence of a valid Alien Work Permit
- Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in this state
- Certified as Registered Medication Aide in this state
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to provide covered PCA services according to the person's PCA Care Plan
- Ability to operate a motorized vehicle and have reliable transportation for work in the community
- Ability to make appropriate professional judgments
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision
- Occasional use of hands, wrists and fingers and lifting or moving up to 75 lbs may be required
- Movements such as stooping, crouching, bending, kneeling, climbing and reaching are occasionally required
- This position requires spending a majority of the workday standing and walking, with occasional sitting
- Noise and/or level of distractions in the work environment is moderate
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least six months experience in an assisted living community preferred
