Job Summary
Deliver routine daily medications, record dosages and times, and observe residents to document condition changes. Gather samples for analysis, ensure equipment is inspected and cleaned, and uphold all health and safety standards. Coordinate with nurses to assist with resident care, respond to emergency call signals, and protect confidential client information. Administer oral and external medications while assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living. Follow written or verbal instructions and seek guidance from nurses as needed to perform tasks safely.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Medication Technician or Certified Medication Aide
- Successful completion of a state approved Medication Aide course
- Approval to assist with or administer oral and external medications per state regulations
- Demonstrated competency to perform medication administration in accordance with state regulations
- High School Diploma or equivalent (mandatory in certain states)
- Minimum age of 18 years or the age required by state regulations, whichever is higher
- Pass State and company background checks
- Pass drug test
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Ability to take Vital signs
- Ability to assist resident with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Medication supervision (within the scope of the state regulations)
- Rotating holidays and weekends required
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred in states where not mandatory)
- Working experience alone, on a team, and on projects start to finish
- Strong emotional intelligence and listening skills
- Dedication to the medical field, especially towards working with the residents
