Job Summary
Medication Access Coordinator II coordinates the prior authorization and/or patient assistance program process for medications to ensure timely and appropriate patient access. Collaborates with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to gather necessary documentation, analyzes/ reviews requests to ensure compliance with insurance guidelines and hospital policies, and engages in process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction. Requires High School diploma/GED or equivalent; ASHP/ACPE accredited pharmacy technician training preferred; 2+ years in pharmacy, medical billing, or insurance verification; PHRMTECH-R and CPhT certifications. Hours are full-time, Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm, located at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent
- ASHP/ACPE accredited pharmacy technician training program preferred
- 2+ years of experience in pharmacy, medical billing, and/or insurance verification required
- One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience or one year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of education.
- PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician required
- PHAR-C – Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) certification required
