Job Summary
Medicare Specialist processes Medicare claims daily and handles billing, follow up, payment auditing, refunds, adjustments, correspondence, and telephone calls for Baptist Health's Patient Financial Services. Requires knowledge of UB04, revenue codes, CPT and HCPC coding, plus adherence to HIPAA guidelines and PHI confidentiality. Minimum 1+ year of Medicare billing experience; an Associate's degree in accounting, business management, or finance may substitute for 1 year of experience. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- 1+ year experience in Hospital or Physician Medicare billing
- UB04 understanding
- revenue codes
- CPT and HCPC coding knowledge
- ethics and HIPAA compliance
