Job Summary
Medical Writer supports the development, coordination, and dissemination of scientific publications across research programs. Ensures that research findings are accurately represented and clearly communicated to scientific and broader professional audiences. Aligns publication deliverables with research timelines, data integrity standards, and ethical publication guidelines; ensures materials comply with authorship guidelines and data-sharing policies; may contribute to conference submissions and presentations. Remote part-time role (approximately 20 hours/week) with overlap to Eastern Time, Rochester, NY area; independent contractor (1099) engagement with compensation of $60–$80/hour.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Advanced degrees (MS, MA, PhD) highly preferred
- Prior experience authoring or contributing to peer-reviewed scientific publications is required
- Neurology experience is required
- Experience supporting medical or scientific writing in academic, clinical research, or industry settings is highly desirable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining effective communication with team members
