Job Summary

Develop programs and relationships with payers, policy leaders, and integrated delivery networks to advance the clinical and economic value of Amgen products. Deliver value-based presentations focusing on therapeutic and utilization outcomes, while managing prior authorization discussions and evidence-based medicine topics. Identify speaker opportunities and concepts for investigator-supported studies to support product messages, and collect competitive intelligence within established guidelines. Represent Amgen Scientific Affairs to designated payer and IDN accounts, fostering scientific information exchange regarding reimbursement and coverage policy. Manage internal budgets and T&E while conducting duties within compliance frameworks. This field-based role within the Regional Medical Value Access Liaisons group covers Pittsburgh, PA, and Ohio, reporting to a Senior Director.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree & 2 years of Medical Affairs experience
  • Master's degree & 4 years of Medical Affairs experience
  • Bachelor's degree & 6 years of Medical Affairs experience
  • Associates degree & 10 years of Medical Affairs experience
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Medical Affairs experience
  • Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O.
  • Five years Biotech industry experience working directly with US Payer Accounts
  • CV, Metabolic, Inflammation, Bone, Neuro Oncology therapeutic area expertise
  • Deep knowledge of managed markets, US Reimbursement Landscape, Pharmacoeconomics, Population Health, and other broad healthcare trends
  • Experience in Patient Access in US and / or global markets
  • Project management experience within a biopharmaceutical company
  • Strong advocacy, communication and team cohesion skills
  • Critical thinking, analytical and project management skills
  • Ability to lead and manage projects from concept to completion
  • Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, active listening, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to influence others while fostering a value-based environment of dedication and fairness
  • Ability to understand, plan, and navigate in a matrix and, at times, ambiguous environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly and effectively present information
  • Demonstrates creativity and foresight in anticipating and solving complex project issues
