Job Summary

Lead therapeutically aligned activities to develop strategic objectives and tactics for National Accounts and prioritized regional accounts. Develop and maintain professional relationships with targeted Payer, Pathways, GPO, and Specialty Pharmacy decision makers relative to the Amgen portfolio. Integrate comprehensive value and total cost of care models with the Field Medical organization to enhance internal and external payer engagements. Liaise with senior Amgen executives and synthesize customer insights to inform short- and long-term strategy and evidence generation plans. Serve as the Medical Value & Access lead contact for US V&A, GV&A, Government Affairs, CfOR, and Scientific Communications. Lead internal training initiatives, review utilization and prior authorization criteria for medical policies, and act as the strategic point of contact for Oncology, Rare, and Orphan Disease account directors. Participate in strategy discussions with Market Access & Trade and support Managed Care/Payer advisory boards. Travel approximately 30% of the time.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree
  • 4 years of Medical Science Liaison and/or Payer/PBM experience
  • Master's degree
  • 7 years of Medical Science Liaison and/or Payer/PBM experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 9 years of Medical Science Liaison and/or Payer/PBM experience
  • Travel is required (~30%)

Desired Qualifications

  • Pharm.D.
  • Ph.D.
  • M.D.
  • D.O.
  • Master's Degree (Other Doctoral & Master's Degrees considered)
  • ≥ 5 years of related Payer/PBM/Pathways/Trade/Specialty Pharmacy customer experience
  • 2 years Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) experience
  • Evidence of significant impact & rapport with Payer accounts
  • Leadership experience & demonstrated ability to inspire, coach & develop talent
  • Deep knowledge of managed markets, pharmacoeconomics, population health and broad healthcare & healthcare policy/legislation trends
  • Excellent strategic perspective, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong background of partnering with Medical & Commercial cross-functional colleagues to provide value to customers
