Job Summary
Serves as a Urologist at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center with clinical and surgical duties across diseases of the urinary tract, kidneys, adrenal glands, ureters, bladder, urethra, and male reproductive organs. Responsibilities include performing surgeries in the operating room (Penis, Urethra, Orchiectomy, Ureter, Bladder, Kidney), managing outpatient urology clinic patients and inpatients, providing preoperative and postoperative evaluations, charting and dictation of operative notes, mentoring medical students, and potentially serving on committees. The role requires board-certified expertise in urology, completion of accredited residency training, full medical license, English proficiency, and the ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule with standard daytime hours; supervision and collaboration with the Chief of Surgery are expected. Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy
- Current, full and unrestricted medical or surgical license in US
- Graduation from an accredited Urology residency program
- Board Certification by the American Board of Urology
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Residency training approved by ACGME or AOA or equivalent non-US residency with required practice experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing and privileges at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center
