Job Summary
Medical Transportation Driver transports SNHS patients safely to and from health facilities, inspects and maintains vehicles, assists patients boarding and exiting, and maintains records of trips and miles. Delivers health-related packages, communicates effectively with patients, adheres to traffic laws, and promotes the organization’s mission with trauma-informed care and professional service.
Required Qualifications
- Valid and clean NYS Class E (livery/taxi) driver’s license OR CDL with Passenger endorsement, required.
- Two (2) years of previous experience in commercial driving, such as school bus driving or paratransit, is preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, as some passengers may require assistance with mobility devices.
- Minimum age of 21 years due to insurance requirements.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
- Must have a current (within 30 days) driving abstract.
- Must pass the SNI NTSI class after a successful 90 probation period.
- Experience in a large hospital, academic medical center, outpatient health care setting, or Indian Health Service (IHS)/tribal health, preferred.
