Job Summary
Medical Transportation Driver responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical appointments, assisting with boarding and disembarking, and prioritizing the comfort and well-being of passengers with mobility challenges. Responsibilities include conducting pre-trip inspections, maintaining a clean and safe vehicle, securely assisting patients (including those using wheelchairs or walkers), documenting trip details, communicating with patients, caregivers, and dispatchers, and adhering to safety protocols and organizational policies. Required skills encompass English communication (additional languages preferred), basic computer skills, strong customer service, and adherence to confidentiality and dress and conduct standards. Certifications and ongoing training include BLS, HIPAA, Modivcare driver certification, and annual defensive driving and in-services as applicable. Location: Colquitt, GA, US; onsite driving role within a hospital transportation context.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- CNA certification preferred but not required
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- HIPAA certification within 30 days of hire
- Modivcare driver certification within 30 days of hire and repeat training twice annually
- Defensive driving course annually
- Excellent customer service skills
