Job Summary
Medical Transcriptionist at Compass Connections responsible for translating and transcribing English-Spanish medical documentation, maintaining electronic medical records, and ensuring HIPAA/PHI compliance. The role supports Certified Nurse Practitioner and nursing leadership, performs MAR audits, and participates in on-site medical activities. Requires 2+ years of healthcare administration/medical documentation experience, bilingual English-Spanish proficiency, high school diploma or equivalent, and active CPR/BLS credentials. Includes on-call scheduling, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with strong emphasis on confidentiality, accuracy, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years experience performing professional administrative work in a health care setting, including medical scribe/healthcare documentation specialist experience and providing Spanish/English transcription
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Current BLS certification (PALS preferred); First aid; CPR
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment
- Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request
- Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- Ability to translate medical history and symptoms between English and Spanish
- Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and PHI requirements
- Maintain electronic medical health care records and federal Medical Portal
- Transcribe medical documentation into EMR platforms in compliance with federal and licensing standards
- Demonstrate computer literacy and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team collaboration and effective communication
