Job Summary
Medical Technologist needed for PRN weekend shifts at Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital. Responsibilities include accurately performing blood collection procedures, identifying and labeling specimens, processing and storing specimens for testing, and performing laboratory procedures with emphasis on accuracy, reliability, and timeliness. Maintains quality control, adheres to lab policies, operates and troubleshoots instrumentation, ensures confidentiality of patient information, promotes teamwork, mentors staff, and participates in ongoing education and mandatory trainings. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (Medical Technology preferred) and applicable national certification; weekend PRN scheduling and flexible opportunities available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university; Medical Technology degree preferred
- MT (ASCP), MLS(ASCP) or CLS (NCA), or other applicable national certification
- Ability to perform complex, advanced clinical procedures
- Ability to independently analyze, verify, and assess clinical and/or laboratory data
- PRN Weekends shift availability
