Job Summary
Medical Technologist I performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on blood and body fluids under minimal supervision, ensures timely reporting with documentation, adheres to quality control procedures, conducts instrument checks and maintenance, troubleshoots malfunctions, maintains safety compliance, communicates results to healthcare staff, assists with proficiency testing and data collection for accreditation, may perform phlebotomy duties, and may teach new employees and students; requires Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field and 0-2 years acute care experience, and licensure/certifications as listed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science
- Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS (HEW)
- 0-2 years of acute care experience
- ASCP - Medical Technologist
- Medical Laboratory Technologist (AMT)
- Medical Laboratory Technologist (AAB)
