Job Summary

Perform moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on blood and body fluid specimens, ensuring accurate and timely reporting with appropriate documentation. Adhere to quality control procedures by performing required checks, analyzing data, troubleshooting out-of-range results, and taking corrective actions. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly instrument function checks and preventative maintenance, while troubleshooting malfunctions or notifying personnel as needed. Collect chain-of-custody urine drug screens and perform phlebotomy duties to support patient care, and assist in data collection for regulatory compliance. Communicate effectively with peers and supervisors regarding unusual results and instrument issues. Maintain regular attendance and comply with all laboratory safety regulations and policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or, Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science
  • Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS (HEW)
  • 0-2 years of acute care experience
  • ASCP - Medical Technologist
  • Medical Laboratory Technologist (AMT)
  • Medical Laboratory Technologist (AAB)
