Job Summary
Perform routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on blood and body fluid specimens, ensuring accurate reporting with appropriate documentation. Adhere to quality control protocols by conducting instrument checks, troubleshooting malfunctions, and analyzing data to maintain regulatory compliance. Collect chain-of-custody urine drug screens and perform phlebotomy duties as needed, while assisting in teaching new employees and students. Collaborate with healthcare staff to update peers on unusual results and ensure all procedures follow safety regulations and laboratory policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or, Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science
- Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS (HEW)
- 0-2 years of acute care experience
- ASCP - Medical Technologist
- Medical Laboratory Technologist (AMT)
- Medical Laboratory Technologist (AAB)
