Job Summary
Prepare samples for examination using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation to perform moderate to high complexity testing within the Clinical Laboratory. Accurately evaluate correlates and interpret test results across Histology, Cytology, Hematology, Coagulation, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunoassay, Microbiology, Transfusion service, EIA, and Molecular Biology. Work in state-of-the-art facilities serving over 8 million annual tests, with Pathologists and PhDs monitoring quality and implementing new technology. Day shift hours range from 8-20 per pay period after 20-40 hours of training over 4-5 weeks. No weekend or holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Clinical Lab Science
- Associate's in Medical Lab Technology
- Associates degree in Medical Lab Tech
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
- Medical Lab Technician (MLT)
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC)
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification issued by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Must be able to obtain Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification within 6 months
- Must be able to obtain Medical Technologist (MT) certification within 6 months
- Must be able to obtain an extension for an additional 6 months under approved circumstances
- Must be able to perform moderate to high complexity testing within the Clinical Laboratory
- Must be able to prepare samples for examination using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation
- Must be able to perform numerous complicated tests simultaneously
- Must be able to accurately evaluate correlates and interpret test results
- Must be available for day shift hours
- Must be available for 8-20 hours per pay period
- Must be available for 20-40 hours per week for 4-5 weeks
- Must be able to work without scheduled weekend or holiday hours
- Must agree to a drug-free workplace
- Must agree to pre-employment substance abuse testing
