Job Summary
Medical Technologist responsible for performing patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, results reporting, instrument maintenance and technical problem resolution. Responsibilities include receiving specimens with positive identification, determining specimen suitability, preparing reagents as needed, and performing instrument maintenance/calibration. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Sciences; ASCP MT/MLS certification preferred; opportunities for Master’s degree and specialist certifications available. On-call schedule; contained within MultiCare Allenmore Hospital’s Tacoma, WA setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Sciences (required)
- Master’s degree in Medical Technology (preferred)
- Certification for Medical Technologist, MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP), or AMT or MT (AAB)
- Specialist Certification in discipline (preferred) (e.g., SH (ASCP), SM (ASCP), SBB (ASCP), SC (ASCP))
