Job Summary
Analyze, interpret, and validate laboratory procedures on biological material such as blood, body fluids, and tissues for Virtua customers. Perform moderate and high complexity testing accurately according to established procedures without direct supervision. Post analytically, validate results, investigate deviations, recognize trends, and apply corrective action. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as required. Conduct pre-analytical processes including patient ID, phlebotomy, specimen labeling, verification, receipt, and shipment. Document all quality control according to established policies. Work part-time evenings with every other weekend rotation at the Voorhees location.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of externship in a CLIA laboratory
- Minimum of bachelor's degree in laboratory science, biological or chemical science or other relevant field
- Valid certification as a Medical Technologist or equivalent
- meets CLIA '88 educational requirements for high complexity testing
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for evening shifts
Desired Qualifications
- ASCP certification preferred
