Medical Technologist (MT) / Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)

Job Summary
Perform complex laboratory tests, collect and process specimens, and validate results according to established protocols and procedures. Execute quality control, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting for instruments and reagents to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Assist with patient care activities including phlebotomy, IV starts, EKGs, vital signs, and wound care while maintaining a clean, safe environment. Coordinate pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic activities with the Laboratory Director and resolve customer complaints. Maintain patient privacy, follow safety practices for biohazards and infection control, and document all procedures accurately.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biological/Physical Sciences or Medical Laboratory Science
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Minimum of 6 years core lab experience
- Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance)
- Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance)
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist (MLS/MLT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or American Medical Technology (AMT)
- Valid State of Nevada license Laboratory General Supervisor, or ability to obtain General Supervisor license within 6 months of hire
- Minimum of 3 years lab experience in the non-waived specialties of a clinical laboratory
- 2 of these years must be in a licensed laboratory or a laboratory of a hospital, university or health department and be under the supervision of a director who possesses a doctoral degree
- Travel to all facility locations as required
- Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required

- Experience with IV start, phlebotomy and initiation of EKG
