Medical Technologist (MLS/MT/MLT) - Core Lab

Job Summary
Conduct accurate testing, recognize abnormal results, and report findings timely via writing, verbal, fax, or computer. Perform instrument checks, quality control, and routine equipment maintenance while identifying issues to initiate corrective action. Prepare samples for testing with proper labeling, preservation, and transport; document all procedures and notify lab leadership or caregivers of critical results. Maintain annual competency and apply disease process theory to test results and accuracy studies. Organize priorities to complete assignments, multitask, and engage in staff meetings. Teach procedures to trainees and assist with supply inventory and compliance plans. Maintain current knowledge of computer functions and departmental policies.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university including courses in biological science, chemistry and mathematics
- successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Science program
- BS/BA program in related science that meets requirements for certification
- MT/MLS (ASCP) or MT/MLS (AMT) required
- (ASCP) categorical certification
- BS or BA in related science
- MLT (ASCP) or MLT (AMT) Required
- All students who will have completed a NAACLS accredited program within 6 months and would be eligible for national board exam
