Medical Technologist - Microbiology (2nd Shift)

Job Summary
Perform, review, and report laboratory tests to assist in diagnosing and treating patients. Operate equipment and employ manual test methods while conducting quality assurance, control, and calibration procedures in adherence with federal, state, and CAP regulations. Independently perform a variety of laboratory procedures, both manual and automated, analyzing and interpreting results to enter patient files and identify unusual data. Conduct antimicrobial sensitivity testing and assist in specimen preparation, planting, and acceptability reviews during busy periods. Order supplies, participate in special projects, and train department personnel as assigned. Work full-time, Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm with rotating weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Active ASCP Certification (which is required in RI)
- Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Technologist – Bachelor's Degree in a Science
- Medical Laboratory Technician – Associates Degree in a Science
- Must be able to work independently in a methodical and organized fashion
- Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm with Rotating Weekends (Sat & Sun) and Rotating Holidays
