Job Summary
Determine specimen acceptability according to established criteria and perform routine and complex technical procedures per departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Retrieve and check specimens against pending lists, document discrepancies, and notify management when issues remain unresolved. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation while preparing, testing, and evaluating new reagents or controls. Report accurate and timely test results, perform preventative maintenance and quality control procedures, and replenish bench supplies as necessary. Maintain a safe work environment by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and complying with regulatory guidelines and Labcorp SOPs at all times. Work Monday-Friday from 7am-3:30pm with a sign-on bonus of $5,000.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a non-traditional Bachelor's degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
- Minimum six months to 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience
- ASCP or AMT certification
- Two years clinical testing experience
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Proficient with computers
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
