Job Summary
Determine specimen acceptability and perform routine and complex technical procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation while demonstrating technical decision-making regarding testing and problem solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls, then report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures, replenish bench supplies, and assist with specimen processing as needed. Maintain a safe work environment by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. This part-time role requires 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Candidates must hold a Nevada State Licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technologist and ASCP or AMT certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- Nevada State Licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technologist
- ASCP or AMT certification
- 2 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
- Proficient with computers
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
Desired Qualifications
- Current or prior LabCorp experience
- Experience performing testing and routine maintenance on the Cobas e411 analyzer by Roche
