Job Summary
Medical Technologist II role focused on high-quality diagnostic testing and adherence to CLIA/HIPAA/OSHA guidelines. Responsible for specimen handling, test performance, quality control, calibration, documentation, and coordination with supervisors and regulatory inspections. Includes supervision/training responsibilities, participation in proficiency testing, and potential involvement in government/state inspections. Requires MT certification (ASCP/AMT/AAB/CLS) and a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related sciences with internship or equivalent experience. Demonstrates proficiency in testing and troubleshooting across departments, reviews/releases results per QC guidelines, and maintains accurate records of testing and instrument calibrations. Eligible for sign-on bonus up to $10,000 and opportunities for collaboration with clinical affiliations and administrative teams; shift is Friday–Sunday from 7:00am–7:00pm, with duties spanning Microbiology aspects (including gram-stain and plate setup) and broader laboratory operations.
Required Qualifications
- MT (ASCP), MT (AMT), MT (AAB), MT/MT Provisional (AAB) or MT/CLS (NCA) certification
- HEW Certification from Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools, or equivalent
- Meets CLIA testing personnel requirements for High Complexity Testing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or Bachelor’s Degree in one of the Chemical, Physical, or Biological sciences, with completion of an accredited Medical Technology Internship or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Foreign educated candidates must provide a detailed credentialing evaluation from IERF
- Basic education needed for MT certification
