Job Summary
Perform and interpret various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. Follow established protocols to execute a wide range of tests in an assigned area while referring complex or unusual results to Medical Technologist II staff or supervisors. Ensure test results meet laboratory quality control program requirements and correlate clinical findings with patient history to explain normal or abnormal results. Maintain accurate records using computer-based systems and perform routine troubleshooting, repair, and modification of complex equipment and instrumentation. Conduct preventative maintenance for assigned area equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree from a clinical lab science program (MLT)
- Bachelor's Degree in sciences
- Degree and course work in the sciences must meet the requirements for high complexity testing as defined CLIA Sec. 493.1487
Desired Qualifications
- ASCP certification as an MLT /MT
