Medical Technologist (full-time)

Job Summary
Conduct clinical laboratory testing across Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Immunohematology, Coagulation, and Phlebotomy using manual, microscopic, and automated instrumentation. Collect blood samples from infants through geriatric patients, verify patient identification, and maintain specimen accuracy per SOPs. Process specimens, prepare paperwork for reference labs, and document discrepancies or complaints to the Laboratory Director. Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot instrument failures, and implement quality control protocols. Prepare and distribute laboratory reports while assisting in policy revisions and new employee training. Work a rotating schedule including Tuesdays through Fridays and every fourth weekend, with no on-call requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Masters or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Laboratory Science or other health science degree from an accredited college meeting CLIA requirements for high complexity laboratories
- MT or MLS certification by ASCP or the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA) required within 12 months of hire
- MLT possessing a HEW/AMT or approved agency certification for classification as a MT
- MLT with a MLS certification by ASCP
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college along with an associate degree as a MLT from a two-year accredited program and MLS certification by ASCP upon appointment
- Associate degree as a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) from a two-year accredited program along with 5 years of relevant hospital/reference laboratory experience and Health Education and Welfare/American Medical Technologist (HEW/AMT) or approved agency certification for classification as a MT
