Job Summary
Operate all lab equipment, perform maintenance and calibrations, and monitor quality control requirements. Conduct patient testing to ensure result accuracy, identifying and correcting specimen or instrument issues that impact patient care. Successfully pass proficiency testing and special projects as directed by management. Collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, physicians, and regulatory agencies to support department goals and resolve conflicts constructively. Requires a current Georgia clinical laboratory license or ability to obtain one within 12 months, plus completion of an approved technical school degree. Full-time evening shift from Saturday to Monday nights.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of one-year of Technical School degree in a course approved by the Georgia Department of Human Resources or qualified as a clinical laboratory technologist under the Georgia Department of Human Resources Rules and Regulations for Licensure of Clinical Laboratory Chapter 290-5-06
- Must possess a valid and current license number in the State of Georgia or obtain one within 12 months for out of state, new hires, or new graduates
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients, regulatory agencies, or member of the community
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis or variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
- Ability to interpret variety of technical instructions in manuals and graphs
Desired Qualifications
- A.A. Degree preferred, not required
- Experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification, optional
