Job Summary
Medical Technologist responsible for performing, evaluating, and monitoring laboratory tests across transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry; calibrating and maintaining instruments; supervising and training medical laboratory technicians and staff; assisting in education/training protocol development; ensuring quality control/assurance and compliance with CAP regulatory requirements in an acute setting; handling specimens from newborn to adult patients; supporting education and training of students and residents; contributing to process improvements and efficiency of laboratory procedures; requires a Bachelor’s degree or NAACLS-approved program (or equivalent) and related laboratory skills; 2nd shift 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m. with rotating weekends/holidays; full-time position at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or graduation from a Medical Technology program approved by NAACLS OR equivalent program in a science-related field OR documented equivalent education and training
